Swift Project

After an aborted survey in 2020, we have resumed activity with our first outing on 17 May 2021, to which 13 members turned up. Despite the swifts having only been back for a week or so, it was very rewarding to locate two nest sites on the Deer Park, five or six on the Barrett-Browning building and two on the almshouses. We also have a report of activity in the Newbury Park area and at the Burgage Hall.
We will meet on Monday evenings at the Market House Ledbury at 20.00 h (possibly later as the season progresses), until the swifts depart. However, the meeting on 31 May will be in Bosbury – meet at the church.
The group will be divided to survey known swift nest sites and also to look for new sites. New pairs of eyes will be greatly welcomed. For further information contact the Secretary at admin@ledburynaturalists.co.uk
